2018 MN HURR Spring Opener Long Course Meet

Recommended for all MAKOS

We will have a limited number of entries, 150 total. This will allow up to 50 athletes. We also have a limited number of 400 FR and 400 IM entires. These events will be choosen by the Head Coach.

Meet Type: This is an Invitational meet open to all levels.

Fees: MSI Entry fee of $5.00 and  $2.00 per swimmer program fee, $15.00 per swimmer facility fee, and $7.50 per splash.

Time Schedule: • Session 2 – Saturday PM:  Session will not start before 3:30 pm, following a 45-minute warm-up. If there are more than 300 swimmers, warm-up may be split into two 30-minute sessions instead of one 45-minute session (which will push the start time back 15 minutes).

Meet Location: University of MN Aquatic Center, 1910 University Ave SE, Minneapolis MN 55405 612-626-1352 

Directions: From the west: 94E to 35W North to University Avenue. East on University. The pool will be on the right (south side of street).   
From the east: 94W to Huron Blvd. Immediate left onto Fulton Ave. SE. Fulton Ave. SE will turn into East River Parkway.  Right on SE Harvard St. (stop sign). Aquatic center is just beyond the Washington Ave. parking ramp and is located on the NE corner of Harvard and Beacon St. SE

TEAM COLORS – Please wear either black/gold or NSAC apparel for warm ups at all swim meets. This promotes a more unified presence and promotes more team pride.

SPORTSMANSHIP – Shake hands with opponents after races regardless if you won or lost, no goggle or cap throwing and only draw positive attention to our team.

EVENTS – Coaches have the final say in all events that swimmers compete in. If you are entered into an event you do not want to swim, still give it your best. The coaches have your best interest in mind and put you in events they believe you can swim.

BE EARLY – Please arrive 15 MINUTES prior to the start of meet warm ups.

COMMUNICATION – Speak with your coaches before and after each race.

CHEERING – It is important to cheer on your teammates throughout the duration of the whole meet. This helps to create a unified and supportive environment.
