The Meet Director reserves the right to exclude or otherwise limit entries in order to reasonably manage the meet. Although UASC has made changes in the structure of the meet in order to ensure a quality meet for all contestants, if the number of entries exceeds a manageable number, adjustments, such as limits on the number entries, may become necessary. If this is the case, all affected club(s) will be notified of changes. Please indicate in your email the number of anticipated individual entries you will have. UASC reserves the right to seed all of its swimmers in any events for which entry limits have been imposed.

FACILITIES
The Gahanna Swimming Pool is a heated, stainless steel 50 meter outdoor pool with 8 competition
lanes and 1 lane available for consistent warm-up and warm-down all with 4 inch Kiefer lane lines.
The competition course has not been certified in accordance with USA Swimming rule 104.2.2C(4).
Water depth at the starting block end of the pool is 6.0ft deep for at least 18M off the wall. Water
depth at the shallow end of the pool is 3.5ft deep at its shallowest and quickly deepens to 4.5ft
approximately 15M off the wall. The primary timing system will be manual and in accordance with
102.24.3A(3) there will be three (3) watches per lane, each operated by a separate timer.
During the meet we leave the lane nearest the diving bay open for swimmers in the meet for warm-up
and warm-down purposes. There is NO diving or jumping into the pool in this lane. Athletes must
enter the pool in a very controlled manner (basically sliding into the pool) to ensure that a competitor
in the next lane is not disturbed. There is an attached 15yd diving bay in the competition pool and a
separate unmarked area in the front pool available for warm-up and warm-down, as well.
It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for
damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event.
Entry Fees:
$4.00 per individual event. All entry fees must accompany entries. Please pay by check made
payable to: Upper Arlington Swim Club.

WARM-UP PROCEDURES
Ohio Swimming Welcomes Swimmers with a Disability
Coaches:
A. Should enter the swimmer on Hy-Tek
B. Provide advance notice of any necessary accommodations
C. List in the email with the Hy-Tek entry (or on paper) the swimmer’s name, entry times, strokes/distances,
days/sessions, and how the swimmer prefers to be seeded. Swimmers with a disability will be seeded with
the same age group in either the same distance race or a longer distance race (i.e., 50 free during the 100
free).
Rules:
Current USA Swimming rules will govern the meet. All Swimmers must be registered with USA
Swimming.
Teams will be assigned lanes for warm-up and the supervising coaches in each lane will run their warm-up as
they see fit. Boys and girls may warm-up together. Warm-up times and lane assignments will be posted on
the UASC website, www.uasc.org, at least three days prior to the meet. The Meet Director reserves the right
to revise warm-up procedures to ensure the safety of the swimmers.
Ohio LSC Swimming Safety Guidelines and Warm-Up Procedures will be in effect at this meet.
Swimmers must enter the water feet-first in a cautious manner with one hand in contact with the pool
edge except in lanes that have been cleared and specifically declared one-way sprint lanes by
unanimous agreement of the supervising coaches
Eligibility:
Swimmer’s age on June 30, 2018 will determine the age of the swimmer for this meet. No swimmer
will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. USA
Swimming registration will not be available at the meet.
USA SWMMING SAFE SPORT REGULATIONS
Ohio Safety guidelines will be enforced in the conduct of the meet as well as warm-ups. General
Warm-up procedures require swimmers to enter the pool feet first in a cautious manner, with one
hand on the deck. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in
changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
“Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being
proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When
unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal
guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement”
In compliance with USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, the use of audio or visual recording
devices, including a cell phone is not permitted in the changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.
Under no circumstances are cameras or any other recording device allowed in the area immediately
behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) while they are in use for race starts
during the competition and warm-up.
Please refer to the Safe Sport section of the Ohio Swimming, Inc. policies and procedures for further
information regarding the use of visual recording devices.
Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach
areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or
spectators are.
NO DECK CHANGES ARE PERMITTED
Coaches:
All coaches must be members of USA Swimming. All Coaches must sign in and present a proof of
current USA Swimming Membership Card upon entering the pool area.
Final Results:
Free to each participating team. Bring your flash drive to the meet and we'll give you results
immediately.
AWARDS:
There will be no awards at this meet.
VENUE RULES
Please park in designated parking spots or where directed by meet personnel.
Concussion in Youth Sports: Ohio’s Return-to-Play Law
This facility and event complies with Ohio’s Return-to-Play Law found at www.healthy.ohio.gov/concussion and
submits concussion reports and return-to-play forms to Ohio Swimming. Any swimmer who is suspected of
sustaining a concussion should seek medical attention immediately and will not be permitted to return to
competition until the swimmer has been cleared by a medical professional with a Return to Play form.
It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising
by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of this event.
No parent or spectator will be allowed on deck except to perform a service or function at the request
of the meet director or his designee.
Swimmer & Parent Conduct
Swimmers, parents, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate and sportsman-like
manner. It is the responsibility of all parents to ensure all minor spectators are well behaved and under
supervision at all times. Any swimmer or minor spectator acting in an inappropriate manner will be reported to
their coach or parent for disciplinary action, which may include removal from the meet and facility.
