SOUTHERN REGION SPRING OFFICIALS’ CLINICS

SATURDAY MAY 5, 2018

LOCATION     University of Calgary Kinesiology Building (same building as the pool)

           See attachment for map of the rooms.

 

TIME     9:00 am – 12:00 noon         PLEASE BE ON TIME

   All courses run concurrently beginning at 9:00 am and take between 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours to              complete.

REGISTRATION     Register with Lindsay English lindsay@swimalberta.ca and indicate which course(s) you are signing up for.

COURSE MATERIALS

For all clinics, go to the Swim Canada website www.swimming.ca and click on “resources,” then “officiating,” and then “certification and clinics.” Click on “clinics and quizzes” and then on the clinic that you would like to take. Then read the document. Bring your tablet or laptop to use during the course. Please note that the PowerPoint document for the Stroke and Turns clinic is very large because there are videos embedded in it.

PARKING

Parking is available at the University in the Arts Parkade at 24 Avenue NW and University Gate NW. There is also parking in lots 10 and 13 that are accessible from 32 Avenue NW. There is a charge for parking, so please be prepared for this.

STARTER AND MEET MANAGER CLINICS

If you are an official who would like to take the Starter or Meet Manager clinic, you must have completed most of Judge of Strokes and Turns, Chief Timer, Chief Finish Judge and Recorder/Scorer and the on deck assessments for these positions. If you are not sure of your officiating history, please contact Patti Clarkson patti_clarkson@hotmail.ca  at  right away so she can check this.
