(this is a team hosted event)
The Elgin Cyclones Swim Team will be holding its annual Swim-a-Thon. Participants earn money by swimming lengths of the swimming pool. Swimmers have a two-hour period in which to swim a maximum of 200 lengths. Swimmers get pledges from family, neighbors or businesses to support their efforts. Donors can either pledge a certain amount of money per length, or make a flat donation in support of your team.
All families will be required to raise at least $100 and all current CSA swimmers will be required to raise at least $50. Please note this is per family and not per swimmer.
The funds raised pay for use of the additional pool space we need to keep the Centre pool from being overcrowded – so everyone benefits from having the additional pool space regardless if their child swims at the “second pool” or not. This also helps in defraying additional costs required for the swim team, thus keeping our registration prices low – again everyone benefits from that. Each swimmer is encouraged to raise as much as possible. There will be prizes for top earners!
