2018 Marinwood Waterdevils @ Terra Linda Orcas (SWIMMER SIGN-UP)
The Terra Linda Orcas look forward to hosting the Marinwood Waterdevils on Saturday, June 2!
The meet starts at 8:30 am. Home team Warmups 7:30am. Visitors 8:00am.
We are at 670 Del Ganado Rd, San Rafael.
Directions - off 101: Terra Linda onto Freitas parkway. Follow Freitas parkway approximately 9/10th's of a mile, Turn Right onto Del Ganado, 2/10th's of a mile, Pool will be on your Right – just after the fire station. Parking lot located just past the pool on the Right.
The pool has a small parking lot, which is usually pretty full by 7:45. Most of the parking is on the street. There is a tiny lot just before the pool (by the fire station) and a bit larger one right after. There is a Shopping Mall lot across the street. In consideration of our neighbors, we ask people NOT to use the spaces directly adjacent to the buildings, i.e: Scotty’s Market and the other small businesses. This parking is for their customers.
NOTE: Anyone parking next to or in front of the Beauty Salon (on the near corner - near Panchitos) is in serious danger of being towed! (No joke!)
We will save the grassy area behind the wading pool for the visiting team. This is to the right as you enter the gate. The area to the left is for the Orca team and community. There is a fair amount of space, and not a lot of shade. You are welcome to bring your larger team tents and personal tents. Note: Due to City regulations, the wading pool will be closed during the meet, and we also ask for your help in keeping swimmers out of the shallow area of the main pool.
CLOCK AND TOUCH PADS
We will not be using Touch Pads this year. Just a reminder, our time clock runs 4 lanes at a time. The clock should scroll all 8 lanes but does not do so automatically. We still use 3 plungers and a stopwatch so all times will be secure and posted, they just might not show up for all 8 lanes after every race (sorry).
8 & UNDER AREA
We have set up two tents and a table at the far back corner of the pool (shallow end, lane 8, diagonally across from the pool entrance gate) for 8 & Under line up and organization. We have some shade and a good crew there with heat sheets and lane # flags if your crew wants to join up.
Because of the configuration of the pool we need 2 Stroke and Turn Judges from each team for each shift (four in all for the meet from each team). There is one judge at each corner, to cover that quadrant. We will also need 2 relay exchange judges for each of the 2 relay events.
Our Referee will be Daniel Goldberg. Our Head Timer is Craig Albers. All timers and judges must check in with them at 8:00.
The Orcas Coaches are Tim Baker and Sarah Paoli.
We have a most excellent snack bar, with great breakfast and lunch foods, drinks and snacks. Please visit it for meals and refreshments.
The Orcas are looking forward to a fun meet! We will have the Peet's coffee ready for you! Don't forget to try our famous homemade tamales!
