Nevada Neptunes Invitational
Date: Saturday and Sunday, June 2nd-3rd, 2018
Location: Walton Pool, 400 W Atlantic St, Nevada, MO 64772
Facility: 6-Lane, 25-Yard Outdoor Pool with Starting Blocks.
Times: The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m. Warm ups will begin at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:40 a.m. with times assigned by the Meet Director. The officials meeting will take place at 8:30 a.m. The coaches meeting will be at 8:45 a.m. Timer’s meeting just before the meet.
Meet Type: Standard A meet with timed finals (not A/B meet). Heats will be seeded according to registration times. Swimmers without registration times will be seeded last. Heats will be combined to save time.
Host team will notify each team of their warm up schedule
after all entries have been received. During general warm
ups, the following safety rules will apply:
1. All lanes general warm up only.
2. Circle swimming only.
3. Swimmers may not dive or jump into the pool during general warm up. Swimmers must enter the pool by stepping in feet first, or sitting and sliding in, in a safe and cautious manner. Entering in any other manner may result in the disqualification from one or more of the swimmer’s events for that session at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Swimmers may dive during a designated sprint warm up.
4. No diving, use of the starting blocks, or racing starts off pool edge.
5. At any time during general warm ups, the coach of a team in control of any lane may convert the team's lane into a sprint lane by:
a. Removing all swimmers in that lane from the water.
b. Informing coaches in adjacent lanes.
c. Informing the safety marshal.
d. Following all guidelines for sprint lanes.
Swimmers may not dive into the pool during general warm-up. Any swimmer diving into the pool may be disqualified from one or more events at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Swimmers may dive during a designated sprint warm up.
Timers: Lane assignments for timing will be assigned to all teams based on the number of swimmers representing each team after entries have been received. Smaller teams may share lanes. Host team will time lanes as well.
Entries Deadline: Entries must be received via e-mail by Tuesday, May 29th at 5:00 p.m. E-mail entries to: firstname.lastname@example.org Entry updates will be accepted through Wednesday, May 30th by 5:00 p.m. Updates past this date will be considered deck entries the day of the meet and will not appear in the (for sale) heat sheets.
Entry Limit: Each swimmer is limited to four (4) individual events and one (1) relay per day. Entries must be submitted in Hy-Tek or TeamUnify format.
Entry Fees: $2.00 for each individual event; $5.00 for each relay event. Deck entries will be accepted at the discretion of the meet director, $4.00 per individual event and $10.00 per relay. Deadline for deck entries is 8:15 a.m. on both days. Scratches should be submitted by 8:15 a.m. on both days, and there will be no refunds for scratches.
Checks should be made payable to: Nevada Neptunes Swim Team (NNST).
Awards: Medals will be given for 1st-3rd place finishers for all events and ribbons for 4th- 8 th for individual events only. Heat winners and those who improve their seeded times (best times) will be awarded iron on transfers. High point trophies will be given for 1st-3rd in each age group for men and women. Team trophies will be given for 1st-3rd place.
Scoring: Scoring will be standard scoring for a 8 lane meet as defined in USA Swimming rules: Individual - 9 points for 1st place, 7 for 2nd, 6 for 3rd, 5 for 4th, 4 for 5th , 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th, 1 for 8th, double points for Relay.
Rules: Tri State Conference rules and USA Swimming rules will be followed, including Tri-State Conference warm-up rules.
Officials: Officials will be appointed by the Nevada Neptune Swim Team. Each team will be expected to provide timers for the meet.
Heat Sheets: Heat Sheets will be available to purchase at the meet.
Concessions: Concessions will be available at the pool.
Extra Notes: Use of audio or visual recording devices, including cell phones is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms and/or locker rooms.
