DeForest July 4th Parade

July 4, 2018
July 1, 2018

Description

DFAC Families –

Please join us to participate in the DeForest 4th of July parade!

DFAC’s participation in this event has been going on for several years, and we would like to continue the tradition! This is a great way to give back to one of the communities that give so much to us!

Day of Parade:

Swimmers should bring (1) LARGE bag of candy, water squirters (if water is allowed again this year), beach gear to represent swimming (e.g. goggles, noodles, etc.), and wear DFAC attire or the colors blue and yellow. NO WATER BALOONS. Swimmers will be walking so please make sure they have on foot attire that they are comfortable walking in. Expect to get wet...

Everyone should meet at the DeForest High School parking lot at 10:00am.  Our parade line up number is TBD. Drop off is via the church parking lot entering off of S Cleveland St. No "non-parade" cars in the high school parking lot.

Make arrangements to pick up your children after the parade at the high school or end of the parade route.

To measure the interest of our members (swimmers and parents), please go to the Events page by Sunday, July 1 and use the "Attend this event" sign-up under “Team Functions”.  Indicate to sign-up all swimmers who will be planning to participating in the parade. You are not required to sign up to attend, this is simply to measure interest!!

NOTE: You do not need to be a summer session registered member to participate. You are receiving this email as an “active” member of the club and are invited to participate!  Also, you are not making a firm commitment; we are simply trying to get an idea of the volume of interest.

If you can help help with the team’s parade entry, or have further questions, please contact Angela (vice-president@dfacswimming.org)

The parade is on Wednesday, July 4.

What time does the parade start? The parade starts at 10:30. Line up starts by 10:00. Rain delay is a noon start.

Do I, the parent, need to walk as well? No, you do not need to walk in the parade if your swimmer does. We are, however, looking for a few parents to walk with the kids.
You will need to pick up your swimmer at the end of the parade. These details will be discussed and communicated.

What kind of entry will the team have?  That's up to our parent coordinators and YOU!  Parents and swimmers can help steer what our entry will “look like”! We will let you know if Water IS allowed this year.
