The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, presented by Loblaw Companies Limited is a national conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF-Canada that provides Canadians the opportunity to take action in their communities wherever water meets land, one bit of trash at a time.
Last season, Chena participated in a volunteer cleanup at Panorama Park in Deep Cove. It was a beautiful day and swimmers and parents alike got to work and tidied-up the beaches.
This Sunday, May 27th, we’re going to cleanup the Bottom Seymour River off Spicer Road from 10am - 12pm. (Map)
Please bring gardening or rubber gloves and proper footwear (no flip-flops) as we are on a river bank. We want all swimmers - and parents if you so wish - to wear the updated Chena clothing for the event. If it’s raining, then be sure to bring appropriate outerwear.
A waiver form (attached) must be signed by each participant (parent/guardian if under 19). Alternatively you can complete it at the site on the day of the cleanup.
Please sign-up twice. Once on their site http://shorelinecleanup.ca/cleanups/49rm6 and again on our website: https://www.teamunify.com/EventShow.jsp?returnPage=%2FEventsCurrent.jsp%3Fteam%3Dcanscst&id=913689&team=canscst
