South Saskatchewan Open Water Classic
The Swift Current Barracuda’s are hosting this event
in preparation for hosting the 2019 Western
Canada Summer Games Swimming and Open Water Competitions. They look forward to the opportunity to
host this competition annually and look forward to bringing swimmers together to compete in one of
Saskatchewan’s southern lakes.

Location: Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park Main Beach
This is a great opportunity for our 12 and older competitive swimmers to finish the year with a great fun event!!
Swimmers must be able to swim the required distance, ability to
withstand the cold for the
requisite time, appreciate the general conditions of open water swimming and be able to
maintain a good pace throughout the entire race.
Swimmers must be a minimum of 12 years to compete in the 1500m
event and 14 years to
compete in the 3000m event.
There are no qualifying standards.
Swimmers are required to have a support person in attendance for
post-race recovery. If
they don’t have a support person, they will not be permitted to race. For a swimmer under 18
this support person must be over 18 years (must be a parent/guardian/family member or
coach). The support person must be present for the entire race. We suggest that there be a
minimum of one support person per vehicle of swimmers.
Please take the time to read through the entire meet package before signing your swimmer up for this race. Those swimmers (possibly) attending Canadian Jr Championships, please speak with Coach Laura before signing up.
