Description: Learn-to-swim is a program offered to beginning swimmers ages 4-8.  During the duration of the program sessions, swimmers will be instructed on proper body position and alignment to set the stage for proper technical swimming.  The group will focus on preparing young athletes to complete at least 25 yards of unassisted swimming in both Freestyle and Backstroke.  Swimmers will also be exposed to a step-by-step approach to completing a proper dive.

Instructors will use a rubric to track and assess your swimmers progression in the following areas:

  • Proper head and body position
  • Floating
  • Float kick progressions for FR and BK
  • Kicking with a kickboard
  • Streamline Progression
  • Diving

Completion of each session will culminate with a certificate of completion and scaled ratings based on expertise in the areas tested.

Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 6 weeks.  Session two will last from October 16 - November 21.

Cost: $80 for each 6 week session.  Registration fee of $60 will be collected for registration in the 1st session.
