Join us on the weekend of January 25-27, 2019 for the 36th Annual Circle City Classic hosted by Brownsburg Swim Club.

The meet will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium located on the IUPUI campus. The IU Nat recently underwent extensive renovations and hosted several championship meets including the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships and the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships.

Subject:  Indianapolis Travel Meet

If you’re a parent of a swimmer new to travel meets and aren’t sure what this meet is about; this email is for you!  We are in the same situation so I’m sharing information that Coach Rob and another parent that has been to the meet before gave me.

The event is January 25-27 and there are currently 17 swimmers registered for the event out of 32 kids that have qualified for at least one event.

1.There is a meet eligibility report posted at the bottom of the Event Page with swimmers that have met the qualifying criteria as of 12.3.2018.

2.There may have been more qualifying times this weekend and those will be updated when the meet results are made official. Here is a link to the time standards used for this meet.  Families have until 12/9/18 to commit to the meet in Indy.

3.It's also possible to enter your swimmer in the meet now and if he/she doesn't reach a desired number of swims at our January Grand Prix meet to pull him/her altogether.

4.Swimmers can only swim in the events they have qualifying times for, however if you swim in an event that you don’t meet the time standard, the fine is $5/race.

5.There are two hotels most families are staying at. If you would like to be with other SWAT families, Call the hotels listed. There are not specific blocks of rooms. Downtown has 3 huge conventions going on and rooms are scarce.

Springhill Suites – (317) 972-7293

601 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 This is walking distance to the pool.

 Drury Hotel – (317) 587-2701

9625 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46290 - 20 -25 minutes drive to the pool

Springhill Suites is near the University and the Drury Hotel is about 20 minutes away.  The positive for Drury Hotel is it includes complimentary breakfast, happy hour, and dinner (not sure what is served).  Positive for Springhill Suites is proximity.  My family chose the Drury Hotel.  I recommend calling to make your reservation to more easily book into the SWAT block, rather than online.

6. If you’re in the Muskego/Norway school district – there is no school on Friday, January 25 so it isn’t necessary to miss school on Friday.  I didn’t check other districts.

7.The facility is one of the best indoor pools in the country with a lot of history.  This is why we are going.  Who knows when/if our swimmer will get the opportunity to swim in such a great place again.

Hope this information was helpful for those families that might be considering this trip for the first time.
