Adopt-a-Family For the Holidays!
(this is a team hosted event)
Hello Pau Hana Families!!
As most of you may know since December 2014 the Pau Hana Swim Team has been fortunate enough to adopt families during the holidays to make them a bit brighter and happier for those less fortunate.
This year has been one no one could have ever predicted. Our lives have been changed and turned upside down. The new normal is not normal and we all have had to adjust to simply make it work.
Our summer and fall was way different than before but we still managed smiles…great training and it was wonderful being TOGETHER.
You may be wondering how I could still consider asking our team to help and adopt a family during this time. And my response is simply…if we can…I think we should consider and go for it. You are not obligated at all. But if you are in a position to donate something ’thank you’ so much. And if not but you are willing to make a card and write something special in it for the family letting them know they are not alone and we care…that would be incredibly special too.
We are working with a local agency, The Licking County Job and Family Services and have adopted 1 family. In years past we have helped 2 families with many kids. So I am hoping 1 family with 2 children and parents is doable.
You will find the families “WISH LIST” on our web with specific sizing and gift info. Y ou will be able to select an item(s) to purchase for the family. Additionally, we listed an option to donate money to the family.
The family has asked if they can wrap the gifts. Please put your unwrapped donated gift in a bag labeled with the number(or name) corresponding to the recipient.
Please bring all items in by Friday December 11th to practice. We welcome you to bring your gifts and turn into your coaches as early as you'd like.
Again please know that I know how difficult this year has been for everyone. I am simply hoping we are able to help out in some way.
I have been so incredibly PROUD of the generosity our team has shown by giving back and paying forward to those in need. So in this season of giving, the coaches and I THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your contributions to those in need by continuing this great TRADITION!
