Description:

"Splash Night” is a try-out session for new swimmers who are looking to get placed and swim on our club.

Swimmers interested in joining Piranhas Swim Club for the Fall (and/or Winter), 2021 session (or sometime in the future) are invited to attend “Splash Night” on Wednesday, Spetember 8!

The basic requirements to join the team are as follows:

  • Knowledge of and ability to complete 25 yards (one length of the pool) of freestyle with rythmic breathing and 25 yards backstroke without stopping or holding onto the wall.
  • Previous pre-competitive lesson experience.
  • Maturity and stamina to complete a 45 or 60-minute practice session.

In addition to the above any swimmer who can complete the following will be considered for one of our advanced groups.

  • Ability to execute breaststroke and dolphin kick
  • Stamina to complete more than 100 yards of freestyle and backstroke without stopping
  • Ability to dive into the water

All swimmers should pre-register for a spot in one of our time-slots

Group A: 6:30 PM to 6:55PM (8 spots)

Group B: 7:00 PM to 7:25 PM (8 spots)

Group C: 7:30 PM to 7:55 PM (8 spots)

Please register using the "Register Online" button above -- you will be required to create an account if you are completely new to the club!

If you cannot attend Splash Night on Septmeber 8 we can schedule an evaluation another time.  Please contact head coach, Lucas Baarlaer, to set-up an evaluation.

What to expect at Splash Night

Your swimmer will need to bring a swim suit, towel, goggles, swim cap (optional) and be prepared to be in the water for a 5 - 10 minute evaluation.  After each evaluation a Piranhas Swim Club coach will take a few minutes to answer any questions you may have.

Most swimmers will join our novice group: a novice/entry level practice group designed to teach them how to swim all four competitive strokes properly, starts, turns, streamlines, and basic swimming stamina. This group is non-competitive (although meets are offered periodically): it is designed to prepare swimmers to enter the Age Group prep training group, begin competition, and foster a love for the sport.

Two Week Trial Memberships

Piranhas Swim Club will offer any new family the option of trying our club commitment-free for two weeks. Once the two week trial is over, you will no longer be eligible for a full refund and will be subject to the Family Commitment Policy (see billing policies for details).

All swimmer who stay on the team will receive a Team Cap as our way of saying, "WELCOME!"

All Club pre-season Virtual Meeting

We will host an all-club pre-season virtual meeting on Thursday, September 9 to help all families (especially new families) become oriented with the club.  More information to come.
