Fellow Armada Parents!
Our team has a great opportunity to host the Senior Circuit meet November 10-11-12 this year at Miramonte High School, 750 Moraga Way, Orinda. Please mark your calendar now!

What is Senior Circuit?
The Senior Circuit is the next level of competition (above the "Age-Group" level of swim competitions which includes Junior Olympics and Far Westerns) for swimmers 13 and above. There are separate time standards for Senior Circuit.

This will be a "Trials and Finals" meet, with preliminary heats in the morning and finals in the late afternoon (except for Friday, which will be just finals in the late afternoon) .

Some of our older swimmers will be able to work at this meet and the coaches can sign off on "community service" hours.

In addition to raising the profile of our club within Pacific Swimming, hosting this meet will be a great fundraiser in support of our team!
Here are some of the great things we are able to do with the funds raised by the team:
  • offer scholarships to support swimmers who would otherwise be unable to participate
  • conduct outreach programs to maintain the vital diversity of our team
  • purchase and maintain equipment needed for practices and meets
  • supplement our operating costs for the year
Because of the facility requirements for this meet, Armada will be hosting the event at Miramonte High School, 750 Moraga Way, Orinda.
All Armada parents will have opportunities to participate - working on this event can satisfy your "home meet" volunteer requirement for the 2017-2018 swim year.
We had great success with our "Team Leads" approach at our last home meet and we'll be using a similar approach this time. If you would like to help by leading a small group of volunteers with a particular focus, please let me know! I will be reaching out to parents individually as well.

Possible team leader jobs include:
  • Marshals Lead
  • Check-In Lead
  • Set Up Lead
  • Break Down Lead
  • Snack Bar Lead
  • Hospitality Lead
  • Donations Lead
  • Program Lead
  • Runners Lead

By clarifying the expectations with each team leader in advance we can be much more effective (and save time and effort) in our planning and at the meet.

Please let me know your preferences by signing up for the Event Jobs or by contacting me directly.

See you at the pool!
