Date: January 24-26, 2020
Location: UMD
Age Groups /

All Qualified Swimmers
Registration Deadline: 01/10/20

This is a qualifying meet.  Please read the following instructions carefully:

  • All athletes that are 9-14 years on the first day of the meet are eligible for the meet if they have achieved the minimum qualifying score (1,800 points) in any age during the qualifying period (September 1, 2018 through the entry deadline).
  • The qualifying standard will be a minimum IMX Challenge score of 1,800 points for all ages and genders. Qualifying standards are the same for SCY and LCM. See below for more information re: the IMX Challenge and click HERE for additional information from USA Swimming.
  • If a swimmer qualifies and wants to enter this meet, they will swim ALL the events listed below for their age group.
  • Please note that a swimmer who has achieved a minimum qualifying score, but then ages up prior to the start of the meet, will be eligible to enter the meet and compete in their new age group.  For example, a swimmer who achieves a minimum qualifying score as a 10-year-old and ages up to 11 prior to the start of the meet will be eligible to enter the meet and compete as an 11-year old.

To obtain an IMX Score, a swimmer first must swim all of the events required for their age group in a sanctioned meet since the start of the season (i.e., short course yards (SCY) season or long course meters (LCM) season).  For example, all events must be swam during the 2018-19 season OR the 2020-21 season.  Times from a previous season DO NOT carry over from season to season to determine the IMX score.

  • For 10 & U - 200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly, and 200 IM.
  • For 11/12 - 500 Free (or 400 Free in LCM), 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly and 200 IM.
  • For 13/14 - 500 free (or 400 free in LCM), 200 Back, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 200IM & 400 IM.

Swimmers must complete all of those events in the same course (SCY or LCM) to have an IMX Score in that particular course.  Scores are based on the  amount of power points that a swimmer obtains for each event (you can calculate your power point score instantly using  this calculator).  For IMX purposes, both short and long course seasons start September 1 and end August 31.
