2018 Mini HOX Spring Clinics

February 26, 2018 (12:00 PM) - May 31, 2018 (12:00 PM)
April 22, 2018

Description

MINI HOX Spring Clinic:   April 23rd - May 31st

3 days a week $200

The Mini HOX program was created to expose children to the fun and excitement of participating on a recreational swim team and to prepare them to participate on the HOX swim team next year. This program is ideal for young children who enjoy the water but may find it challenging to swim the full length of a 25 yard competition pool.

Please note that Mini HOX is not a learn-to-swim program or a private swim lesson. The program is not appropriate for children who are neither water-safe nor potty trained (swim diapers are not allowed). If your child does not fulfill the requirements for participation in Mini HOX, private swim one-on-one lessons will be available later this year. In an effort to find the best fit for each swimmer, the coaches reserve the right to make adjustments regarding a swimmer's participation in Mini HOX and to refer them to the appropriate program.

Recommended gear - swim suit, swim cap, fins, goggles (TYR "Swimple" goggles are recommended as they fit really well on little faces)

Mini HOX 2018 Spring Clinic
The Mini HOX Spring Clinic will run from April 23 - May 31 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  The program cost is $200.   In order for the program to be offered, the minimum enrollment is 4 swimmers. If 6 or more swimmers enroll (maximum of 8), Coach Sean will organize swimmers into 2 equal sized groups, based on current ability. Groups will be determined by current skill level; parents must be willing to accept either one of the two time slots listed here as determined by the coach:

12:00 - 12:30pm ( 1 - 5 swimmers, with a minimum of 4)
12:30 - 1:00pm   ( 6 - 8 swimmers)

The first 8 swimmers to register for Mini HOX will be given a practice time.  We will also offer a waitlist after the first 8 slots have been taken.  Any vacancies will be filled based on the registration time stamp with waitlisted families.

The Clinic will be run by Coach Emma and Coach Sean. The coaches will be in the water with the Mini HOX during practice. The program will focus on teaching stroke technique in all four competitive strokes: backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle as well as other fundamental principles of swimming. Your child should be 3-5 years old by June 15, 2018 and fully potty trained to participate in the Mini HOX program.  This program is only for Blackhawk Country Club swim, tennis or golf members.

Mini HOX Required Observation for group placement:

All registrants are required to attend a pre-class one-on-one in water observation with Coach Sean. This will allow him to place each swimmer into a group to best fit their current development and a fun way to get to know Coach Sean. One-on-one sessions will be about 5-10 minutes in duration.
