SC State Meet LCM - at USC

Jul 19, 2018 (03:00 AM) - Jul 22, 2018 (03:00 AM)
July 9, 2018

Description

A swimmer may swim a maximum of eight (8) individual events, including time trials, for the entire meet. There are no limits on relays per team, but only one relay per team may place and score. · All times must be listed to the 1/100th of a second. Entries must be submitted using a South Carolina State Meet Qualifying Short Course Yard or Long Course Meters time. Times entered must be actual (not converted) times. Times must have been achieved on or after July 20, 2017, and prior to the entry deadline

PALM fees: $35 per swimmer; $5 per event; $8 per relay; $8 per Time Trial
PALM registration deadline: July 2nd

Athlete Eligibility: All swimmers entered must meet or exceed the SC State Meet Qualifying Standards in EACH event entered. All swimmers shall have met the state meet individual event qualifying time standard in the age group of the relay event in which they swim. If swimmers participate in a relay and fail to meet the qualifying standard, then their team must demonstrate that the aggregate of the times of the four competing swimmers meets the relay qualifying standard. Any club which does not have four swimmers qualified for the meet in individual events may swim a relay if they can meet the qualifying time for that relay using aggregate times.

SWIMWEAR: Swimmers 10 years old and younger are not permitted to wear “Technical” suits at this meet. Age is determined by the first day of the meet.

  • State Meet Team Dinner = will be Wednesday night after practice at 7pm at Moe’s right around the corner from the pool.  Siblings or teammates riding carpooling together are welcome to come.
  • State Meet T-Shirts = were ordered late and will not be in until after meet.  It is completely Coach Heath’s fault.  My apologies to all.
  • SHAVE & TAPER = it is expected for all swimmers to rest, rest, rest……..and wear tech suits at this meet.  10&U are NOT permitted to wear tech suits.  It is against the rules!!! 13 & Over swimmers should shave down.  Stretching at night and foam rolling is always good.  Be positive and show mental toughness throughout the meet weekend.
  • RELAYS = are attached below.  Please confirm that you will be there for your relays by emailing me or texting me.  All relays will be during finals. We are waiting to hear back from meet management to publish if relays will be at the beginning of finals or at the end on Friday & Saturday.  They presented it before all the coaches and we voted on it.  If relays end up being before finals, we most likely will NOT swim relays.  I do not want to sacrifice individual swims for relays.  I believe and my hope is that they will be swum at the conclusion of finals.  I will let you know for sure when we get word.

Thanks everyone!!!  It has been a very fast & furious summer!!!  Let’s finish it off with fast & furious swimming!!!
