We are excited about a new swim season and want to start it off right by helping our community.  Our team has been presented an opportunity to change lives by supporting the Charlotte Rescue Mission through a charity that Grace Daniels started named “Laps for Love”.  I am sure all of our swimmers will want to participate in this event.
The inaugural BadFish Laps for Love event is scheduled for October 10th at the Rama Swim and Racquet Pool and is broken into two sessions.
Session 1:  From 8:00AM to 9:45AM the pre-seniors and seniors will be challenging ATOM swimmers in a dual meet.  The winning group gets to display a trophy until next year’s event!  The events will be selected by the BadFish and ATOM coaches.
Session 2:  From 10:00AM to 11:30AM age groups Black, Red and White will swim as many laps as possible for per lap donations.
Attached is a sponsorship form.  Each swimmer needs to get as many sponsors as possible.  Session 1 swimmers should get one time donations since they are swimming in the dual meet.  All other swimmers can get per lap donations or one time donations.
Each participant will receive a t-shirt with the Laps for Love logo on it.  We will also have food, drinks and goodies for all families involved.
Here are a few facts about the Charlotte Rescue Mission.  Mission Statement - They transform lives in the name of Christ by serving people struggling with addiction, poverty or hopelessness with the goal of returning them to society as productive, self-sufficient citizens.  They serve over 600 people annually with a success rate, measuring by sobriety beyond six months from graduation, is 77%.  This is compared to the national average of 14% for comparable programs.
Please let us know if you would like to participate by sending an e-mail to [email protected] by September 30th.  Please include participant name and t-shirt size.
We are trying to get 100% participation for this out reach event!!!
