NEWPORT FINISHES 2019 5TH PLACE IN THE NKSL AND PROVIDES FREE SWIM LESSONS TO MORE THAN 160 CHILDREN!

In its eighth summer of swimming and diving competition, Newport finished:
-3rd in the Dive All Star Meet
-2nd in the Swim All Star Meet
-6th in the Boys Dive Champ Meet
*Ashton Pawlak finished 2nd overall in 11-12 boys
-6th in the Girls Dive Champ Meet
*Grace Hedger finished 1st overall in 11-12 girls
*Addie Tinkler finished 2nd overall in 11-12 girls
-5th in the Swim Champ Meet, which was hosted by Newport
*11-12 Girls Free Relay placed 1st (Ragan Moore, Ava Horner, Raine Ellerman and Sarah Littrell)
*Sarah Littrell (11-12 girls) finished 1st in 50 free
*Jaeger Ellerman (11-12 boys) finished 1st in breaststroke (4th year in a row) and 1st in 100 IM
*Emma Littrell (13-14 girls) finished 1st in Open 200 free, 1st in 100 free with a new NKSL record of 59.36, and 1st in 50 free with a new NKSL record of 27.73, capturing the prestigious NKSL High Point Award
*Paige Hedger (15-18 girls) finished 1st in 50 back

WAY TO GO PENGUINS!

In 2017, the Penguins became a USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash partner and grant recipient, and in 2019 that support provided more than 160 Newport children with FREE swim lesson and water safety instruction. In 2019, the Junior Team was started to provide stroke instruction to children in preparation for future Team membership.

The Penguins home is the Veterans Memorial Park Pool, located at 26 Caroline Drive, Newport, Kentucky.
