Our membership is open to anyone between the ages of four(4) and eighteen(18) with an interest in participating in competitive
swimming. Our primary focus is on introducing the novice swimmer to the sport and in developing the fundamental skills
necessary to compete, all in a fun atmosphere.
There are 4 ways to stay informed with what's going on:
1) email - all active families receive our TFS updates via email.
2) Facebook - if you're an active TFS family and on Facebook, please request to join our team page. We re-post all email messages on to our team Facebook page.
3) team website - we also re-post all emails in the "team news" section of our website.
4) text alerts - We only send texts for urgent last minute information. If you need assistance in activating your cell phone to receive text alerts, please contact Britta Harris.
The River City Swim League currently has eighteen member teams. The League sponsors both a dual meet season and a season ending
Championship meet. The dual meets begin in late May and run to mid-July with the Championships usually held over one of the last
weekends in July.
We are a non profit club, is run by its elected Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting
and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
TFS coaches and staff seek to provide a safe, competitive experience for swimmers as they develop proper technique, set and attain
personal goals, learn self-discipline and practice good sportsmanship. We think of ourselves as a "family". We have fun, enjoy each
other's company and hopefully win some meets in the process. Personal development is what we stress. In swimming jargon, that means
improving personal times. Establishing a healthy environment that encourages kids to do their best, recognizes their contributions to the
team and is fun for the entire family - these are the goals of Team Fernandina Stingrays.
We stress "low stress" and no pressure.
