Sedona Swim Team welcomes all swimmers, regardless of age or ability. Our team focuses on how good you can become, rather than judging how good a swimmer you are. Our coaches create practices around what you can learn, based on what you already know how to do. The Sedona Swim Team is a fun group of athletes, creating a health focused atmosphere to socialize with friends and teammates.
The Sedona Swim Team trains year-round at the Sedona Community Pool, and the schedule is dependent upon the season. The pool is 25 yards in length, eight lanes at width, ranging from 3-7 feet in depth, and an average temperature of 78-80 degrees. The pool is located outdoors, equipped with two indoor locker rooms and six showers, two large digital time clocks, eight starting blocks, kick boards, pull buoys, hand paddles, drag socks, parachutes, and bungees. During scheduled practices, there are lifeguards and certified coaches on deck at all times.
Every Sedona Swim Team swimmer, parent and Coach is dedicated to developing a comprehensive, yet fun competitive swim program. What sets us apart from other programs is that we view all swimmers equally.
Swimmers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to rise to their highest possible fitness levels, and pursue competition. However, since only one person can win an event, we emphasize the importance of working hard to improve your time in each competition. This is the best measure of success! In this way our swimmers develop self-discipline and internal motivation. We emphasize fundamental swimming skills, character growth, sportsmanship, and friendly, healthy competition.
Of upmost importance is highlighting the enjoyment and benefits of swimming as a life-long activity.
