Edmonton Keyano Swim Club

Brand New and Exciting Lead Staff for 2018-19

Paul will be taking over the lead of Edmonton Keyano’s technical program in 2018-19, after 10 seasons as the National Head Coach of Malaysia. Prior to 2008, Paul spent 8 years as the Head Coach of a large club in Queensland, Australia; one of the most dense and competitive swimming communities in the world.

He brings a wealth of high-end experience, including 3 Olympic Games and 3 FINA World Championships since 2008. He also brings a wealth of knowledge in running a large club, where he coached up to 100 different athletes per season as the Director of Coaching / Head Coach. In 2018, he is Malaysia’s coach at the Asian Games.

Edmonton Keyano Swim Club searched far and wide for the best possible candidate for this position. With the help of our vast resources, we believe Keyano has found a leading-edge coach who will carry on our successes in the pool and take our program to exciting performances across the program’s continuum.

Chris will be taking over the lead of Edmonton Keyano’s operational side in 2018-19. An Edmonton native, he has been with Keyano since 2012 and finished the last two seasons as our Head Coach. While Head Coach, he has also led many of the club’s administrative tasks and helped our club move towards an organizational structure that will bring us in line and ahead of the other top clubs in Canada.

He brings a wealth of Canadian high-end coaching experience to our office and pool deck, including 4 FINA World Championships and 1 Paralympics since 2008 and the coach of 11 different Canadian National Record holders / National Team members. In 2018, he was Swimming Canada’s World Jr Open Water Training Camp Coach.

Edmonton Keyano is home for Chris, and we are excited to have his passion for Edmonton swimming continue in this new position. While he puts his focus into opening doors for our club to grow behind the scenes, you will also see Chris helping our young coaches next season as we use his experience to further develop the depth of our program.
