The Town of Watertown Parks and Recreation swim program was founded in 1972 and is now in its 50th consecutive season of competitive swimming.

The program has two components:

Watertown Warriors Swim Team (WRST) & The Yankee Clipper Swim Team (YCST)

WRST is affiliated with Connecticut Yankee League swimming. The Connecticut Yankee League is a decades old organization currently consisting of 11 local town and city programs located in western and southern Connecticut. Dual meet team competition scoring is governed by rules established by the League with a league championship at the end of the winter season. Participation in this component of the program is designed to encourage personal development within a team competition environment.

YCST is a USA Swimming affiliated club competing with CT swimming in USA sanctioned meets. Participation in this component of the program is designed to encourage swimmers to reach their highest individual potential within the entire community of USA swimming.

The program runs as a non-profit partnership between two distinct entities, the Town of Watertown Parks and Recreation Department and the WRST Parents Booster Club. Practices and home meets are held at the Frank M. Rheinhold pool at Watertown High School.
