Sage YMCA Piranhas : Background-image

The Piranhas swim team is based out of the Sage YMCA and is a year-round team. The goal of our team is to provide members an opportunity to improve their swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

Our coaching staff has a tremendous amount of experience at all levels of swimming. They offer and work, as a team, towards a team methodology while encouraging the swimmers to achieve high personal standards that they set for themselves.

Congratulations to the 2019 Piranha Summer Swim Team on their accomplishments.

YMCA State Meet : 1st place Team, 1st place Girls, 1st place Boys. Also 1st place
Champions in the following Age Groups - 10U girls, 12U girls,
12U boys, 14U girls, 14U boys, and 21U boys. The 21U girls
were 2nd and the 10U boys were 3rd.

ISI Age Group Championships: 18th place

YMCA Nationals: 24th place (20th place boys) Finalists - Quinn Cynor (100 & 200 fly, 200 & 400 free, 400 & 800 free relays) , Alex Schlueter (50, 100, & 200 free, 400 & 800 free relays) , Atzi Gomez (200 fly) , Mike Bartczyszyn (400 & 800 free relays) ,
Cole Seeger (400 free relay), and Danny Sanahurskyj (800 free relay).

Central Zone Championships: Penny Brereton, Mason Gaylord, Ignas Venslauskas, and Kasparas Vensluaskas.

The Sage Piranha Swim Team has won 4 out of the last 5 Illinois State Swimming Championships and the last 3 Long Course Championships in a row.
