Welcome to Pacific Northwest Swimming

07/21/07:A former SBAY swimmer, Alex Denke, has a set of 9-month old twin boys with a rare genetic disease called hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), which is similar to leukemia. Without a bone-marrow transplant, they are being kept alive with weekly chemotherapy. With a bone-marrow transplant, there is 100% recovery! They have been waiting for a bone-marrow match for more than two months, and they are trying to get more people registered with the national marrow donor program. Bone-marrow donation involves a day or two of your time, and general anesthesia, and a little discomfort. It can save a life. If you match the Denke twins, you can save two lives. The testing procedure is a simple swab in your cheek, and it doesn't commit you to anything. Please e-mail DKMS today and ask for a kit to test yourself in honor of Keane and Ethan Denke. Check out the The DKMS website for more information on being in the bone marrow registry and bone marrow donation.
