Welcome back, Sharks! The 2021 season will look a bit different, but we are looking forward to welcoming swimmers back to the pool!

COVID-19 Precautions:

As we are all aware, things look a little different nowadays, and swim team is no different. We are ensuring social distancing by having less swimmers on the team and pre-team will not be available. Swimmers will be distanced during practice with only 4 swimmers per lane and staggered start positions in the pool. No equipment will be used or shared during practice and the pool pass system will be used to help with contact tracing.

For the 2021 season, registration with be entirely ONLINE. Registration for returning families will be open May 15 and new families can begin registration on May 22. The registration fee for all swimmers is $120.00. The total number of swimmers will be capped at 112 (40 per hour in the morning & 16 per hour in the evening). If we reach capacity, a waitlist will be started for interested swimmers.

Each practice will last one hour (two in the morning and evening). Families will be asked to choose morning or evening practice at the time of registration and will not be permitted to switch between practices during the season. Coaches will assign swimmers to one of the two practices during their chosen session after registration is complete. Parents will not be permitted on deck during morning practices. Parent at evening practices will only be permitted entrance with a valid pool pass and capacity allowance.

Registration assistance will be available at the Spring Ridge Visitors' Center on May 22 & 23 at 10 am - 12 pm, although we ask that you do not attend unless you have questions or need assistance with the website. We will not have apparel or suits available at the visitor's center during registration. There will not be a volunteer deposit required this year.

There will be two, 1-hour practices, Monday-Friday morning, between 8:30-10:30 AM, and two 1-hour practices on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 5:45-7:45 PM. At this time, we request families to choose morning or evening practice. However, we will not be able to assign a specific hour until all team members are registered and the coaches have a chance to look at the composition of the team. Parents will not be permitted on deck during the morning practices. Parents may be admitted entrance to the pool during evening practices with a valid pool pass and capacity allowance.

Swimmers are required to be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted at the beginning of the season, no exceptions. There will be an evaluation night with the coaches (date TBD) for new or returning swimmers that are concerned about meeting the swimming requirement. However, we do suggest that you register for the team in advance, and registration fees will be refunded if the evaluation indicates that you swimmer is not ready for the team this year.

This year all meets will be held virtually. The means that only the Sharks will be in the pool and all meets will be held at the Spring Ridge facility. Times will be compared electronically between the two teams that are competing. One parent per family will be allowed on deck to observe the meet. We will need parent volunteers to assist with timing, safety monitoring, and lining swimmers up for their races. The meet schedule will be available on the website on May 13th.

Social Events:

Unfortunately, all of our social events had to be canceled for the 2021 season. We are hoping to have the sports photographer at the pool one evening (date TBD) to take individual swimmer pictures (no team picture).
