WILDCAT RIDGE TIGERSHARKS SWIM TEAM HEAD COACH 2019
JOB DESCRIPTION

Wildcat Ridge Tigersharks Summer League Swim Team is seeking an energetic, courteous, knowledgeable and experienced coach to lead, teach, motivate and inspire youth swimmers ages 4 to 18. Wildcat Ridge Tigersharks is a teaching based program that develops competitive swimmers while promoting a fun and safe swim experience.

The Head Coach will be responsible for leading all practices while teaching and refining all of the four competitive stroke techniques, swimming starts and turns. In addition, the Head Coach will assist in managing and guiding assistant coaches in developing swimmers in the same manner. The head coach will also be responsible for setting up and taking down equipment at the pool for practice.

Qualifications include previous coaching experience of at least 3 years. Applicant must have extensive knowledge of competitive swimming, experience working with children, passion for teaching swimmers proper stroke technique and the ability to instill good sportsmanship. In addition, applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, coaching staff, league officials and other coaches. The head coach must hold or obtain current lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certifications and complete online CDC Concussion Training before the start of the Swim Team season.

Administrative responsibilities include managing coaching staff, meeting with assistant coaches on a weekly basis, working with the Board of Directors to prepare for the season, attending occasional mandatory league meetings and utilizing team management software to maintain the team roster, prepare meet entries, and share information. The Head Coach will be expected to maintain frequent communication with team families through newsletters and e-mail.

We have approximately 130 swimmers and our team competes in the Mountain Hi Swim League (MHSL). Our season starts at the end of May and ends with the MHSL All Star meet at in mid or late July. Practices are at our outdoor neighborhood pool in Lone Tree, Colorado, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am Monday through Friday. Dual swim meets and the championship and all-star meets are on Saturdays, and two preliminary meets are held on weekdays.
