RSL Families,

Dear Sea Lion families,

Unfortunately, we are writing to inform everyone that early this week, our recreation swim league, the Mid-Valley Swim League (MVSL) met to discuss and vote on the 2020 MVSL season. The result of this vote was to cancel the MVSL season and any of the MVSL meets and MVSL functions, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the current shelter in place and social distancing mandates, as well as lack of access to teams? facilities.

Because of this fact, the Ripon Sea Lions (RSL), as a recreational swim team, will not be able to hold a 2020 season. As such, we will begin to process refunds, in full, to all who registered and paid for the RSL 2020 season. All refunds should be fully processed and refunded into your accounts by May 1st 2020.

Despite not being able to hold an RSL 2020 season, the Sea Lions would still have an opportunity to get in the pool via the extended swim season the Ripon Aquatics (RA) holds annually. RA will still be hosting our extended swim program, which RA does after each of the Sea Lions? seasons and many of the RSL families participate, in each year. This extended season will now start earlier, due to the absence of RSL being able to hold our typical MVSL season. The start date for this extended swim season is currently dictated by the date at which the Ripon Unified School District deems it safe and allowable for Ripon Aquatics, and others, to use the Ripon High pool and other facilities. As of today - there has been no exact date set for this, other than it not being before June 1. If, and when, this event occurs, we and Ripon Aquatics will be communicating information for extended season for any interested RSL families.

We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this and hope to see everyone at the pool and out and about in the near future. We hope everyone stays safe!
