Enrollment for new swimmers to Swim Charleston opens on May 15. We will be full in 2018-19. If you are interested, please register and then you will be contacted for a tryout. Refunds will only be issued for new swimmers who enroll but at tryouts do not meet our minimum requirements. If you would prefer to be evaluated first, please contact Coach Cathy by EMAIL.
Be sure to read the May practice changes on the practices tab. We do have a lot of changes in May!
TECHNICAL FOCUS: Core strengthening. Starts and Turns.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: Look for an email soon with details of our next project.
Swim Charleston is committed to developing swimmers and empowering them to lead. Our year round competitive swim team offers high quality professional coaching and technical instruction for ages 4-19. We operate as a non-profit club and we are run by a Board of Directors which meets regularly and receives help from the Parent Advisory Committee.
Young swimmers under the age of eight must be able to swim at least 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke. Older swimmers should have experience with all four competitive strokes. We seek to provide every participant on our team an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability while building leadership skills and learning valuable life lessons. Our educator coaches have an average of more than 12 years experience coaching young swimmers. Our unique and consistent teaching progression will help every swimmer to build self-confidence. 100% of our 2018 graduating seniors plan to swim in college for a varsity college team.
We have announced three locations for 2017-18: Wild Dunes (6 lanes), Daniel Island (6 lanes), and Ion (8 lanes). All are beautiful outdoor heated pools and we are very grateful for these partnerships! Each youth year-round swimmer will receive 2 silicone caps and 2 t-shirts each year.
Swim Charleston requires 30 days notice of cancellation. As a non-profit we pass on all processing fees to our membership to ensure that funds collected go directly to facility fees and salaries.
