Why join Mako Aquatics? Mako Aquatics is not just a swim TEAM, we are a FAMILY! Led by Level 5/4 Head Coach Bob Young, our year round professional staff includes his wife Jennifer Ridge; Gary Asmus, Dave Dow and Kurt Becker (all swimmers themselves and parents of current HASA swimmers) as well as Tom Fuchs and Addy DiCristina. We are proud to have talented, experienced coaches coaching all ability levels within our program. Allowing our swimmers to continually strive for EXCELLENCE while having FUN!
Mako Aquatics' primary training philosophy is USRPT, which we believe defines our brand and differentiates our swimmers and staff and has taken Mako Aquatics to a Top 10 Team in Minnesota Swimming since implemented in April 2014. Mako Aquatics trains SMART and our swimmers succeed in and out of the pool!
USRPT refers to the brief and strictly monitored work and rest intervals that swimmers are required to hold during their training. Swimmers training with USRPT develop positive neuromuscular patterning that translates into high quality performances with greater accountability in training and confidence in meets!
Mako Aquatics is accepting swimmers of all ages and abilities whether you are masters, college, high school, grade school, currently a member of another swim team or a new swimmer there's a place for you. So come on and join the #funnest sport and help Mako Aquatics continue to build strong and successful student athletes!
The Parent Group Liaisons are a very important part of our team. They act as liaisons between the Coaches and Board of Directors and member families. They help members learn the "ins and outs" of club swimming and communicate team information to families. Each training group has a Parent Liaison who works closely with the Head Coach and the Board.
