The first week of practice
(May 3rd- 6th) there will be opportunity to try on swim
If you know your size and
order before, your order will be ready for pickup at the first week
EQUIPMENT recommended for each age group:
8U/6U: kickboard and fins
9-12: kickboard, fins & pullbuoy
13+: kickboard, fins & pullbuoy
EQUIPMENT for ALL SWIMMERS:
strongly encourage 1 team suit
(can purchase at pool during week 1 of swim team season,
it is helpful to have 2 practice suits (typically looser than the
team racing suit) for training to allow time to dry out
: should have 2 extra caps (any kind is fine) as they can
rip. any swimmer with hair that covers their eyes is strongly
encouraged to wear a swim
: should have 2 pairs at all times - goggles should be fit by
parent/guardian BEFORE practice to minimize/eliminate coach
will be a virtual Treat and Greet on Thursday March 25 so
you can meet the coaching staff.
We are super-excited to welcome
back Coach Beth for her third season with us!
Similar to last year, assistant
coaches will rotate lanes, allowing swimmers to get the most
individualized and differentiated attention possible.
These coaches have been added to
the staff to give more flexibility to the coaches and allow for
swimmers to move from dry land exercises to practice in the water
- There will
be donuts every Wednesday after each dual meet,
regardless if we win or lose.
- 12 Swimmers of the
Week will be recognized each week (1 boy, 1 girl, 6 age
groups). Pictures will be taken weekly and posted on the bulletin
- 1-3 swimmers will be
awarded Spirit Swimmer of the Week and will receive a hot
pink swim cap with the Venetian logo.
- 6 Swimmers of the
Year will be recognized on the Thursday after the GA Tech
- Swimmers will be given trinkets
for improved times.
- Years of Commitment
Awards will be given when swimmers reach certain milestones.

- Graduating seniors will be
recognized during a meet.
- Similar to last
year, ribbons will be available in the ribbon box at the
front office, which you can collect at your convenience.
Swimmers will be matched with a
buddy to help build community, accountability, leadership skills,
and sportsmanship. Buddies will be paired in May.
We hope to host one pro
clinic to help swimmers further develop their skills.

Many hands make light work! Every
swim family is expected to volunteer in some way at
least three timesduring the season. Sign up
to volunteer via Team Unify when you declare your swimmer.
alerts will be sent to announce weather delays and
upcoming events. Please make sure your phone number is included in
“My Accounts” when you register.
The Venetian Board of Directors
set the following limits in the Spring of 2019 that will remain in
place for the summer of 2021:
- Waitlist families will receive an
email invitation to join the swim team from the Swim Team
committee. Their registration will be verified by the swim team
coordinators before being accepted.
- There is a limit to the size of
the team (200 swimmers in U6- U14 age group, 35 swimmers
in 15 and older, and 15 Starfish swimmers).
- The invitations will be sent out
to the swim team from 2019 via Team Unify and to all Venetian
members via Esplash
- Parents from the waitlist must
follow all rules and guidelines that are established for all swim
team parents, including volunteering at meets.
- Swimmers from the waitlist cannot
stay beyond swim practice hours at the pool unless for a swim
lesson. If they stay beyond that time, they must be a guest of a

- You will receive an invitation to
join the team with a link to a google doc to verbally commit your
swimmers to the team this summer.
- You need to fill the form for
each of your children you are registering on the team.
- Someone from the Swim Team
committee will review your registration and confirm it with you via

and planning for the season, particularly in planning for
minimizing Covid risk as much as possible as we think about meets,
practice schedules, groupings, etc.
