Late Fee: There will be a $30.00 late fee charged if your account is not in good standing by the 10th of the month. The membership account and swimmer will be put on suspension if the delinquent account is not made current by the 28th of the month. Meet Entry Fees: Each family is responsible to pay for their swimmer’s meet entry fees with the exception of relay fees. A $20.00 additional surcharge will be added to the meet entry/splash fees to help cover the cost of coaching staff at all away meets. Meet fees are added to the swimmer’s regular monthly billing.
Note: If any new member not currently registered with USA Swimming is receiving free/reduced lunch, Pacific Northwest Swimming will waive your membership fee. In order to do so, you must provide a copy of the letter you received stating that you are eligible for the free/reduced lunch program.
UPAC Parent Responsibilities: Every UPAC family of a registered swimmer(s) must work a total of 40 service hours per year during four UPAC-hosted meets. This requirement will be prorated in the event that any of our meets are cancelled by 10 hours per cancelled meet. This year our four meets are scheduled in November, January and April. It is highly encouraged that each family work 10 hours per meet. These meets provide UPAC with a major source of operating revenue and sustain UPAC as a volunteer-run, non-profit organization. At the end of each swimming year, mid-August, UPAC charges $20 for each volunteer service hour not completed.
To join UPAC, you must complete your registration on line at www.swimupac.org, which includes payment of the annual USA Swimming registration fee, first month’s dues and return your signed UPAC Work-share Program Agreement via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you wish to terminate and/or suspend your membership please email the treasurer and coach at least 10 days before the next billing period. For example, by September 20th if you are cancelling billing for October. If you have never been a UPAC member, you are allowed a one-week trial to try out the team. We ask that you start your free trial on a Monday during the Bronze level practice session. The coaching staff will evaluate and place your swimmer in the proper level.
Prospective new members: Please schedule your tryout with our membership Chair. Swim assessments are typically held during the third week of the month. In the following week, new swimmers are allowed a one week, Monday through Friday trial with the practice group identified by UPAC staff. Membership can then begin on the first day of the following month. Swim assessments and tryout weeks are scheduled based on availability of open roster spots and may not be held every month. Anyone is welcome to drop by practice sessions to observe practice. However, parents and visitors must remain off the pool deck at all times. You may speak with the coaches either before or after practice in the lobby area.
