Sac Town Tsunami Swim Team 2021 Season

0 Members

It's finally happening! We are finally starting an actual swim season for 2021! Thank you to all our families for sticking with us as we try to figure out how to run a safe and fun season during a pandemic!

Sac Town Tsunami 2021 Season Registration Information

There are TWO registrations: One with Sac Town Tsunami (through this website) and one with the Northern California Swim League (NCSL).

1) All swimmers must be 19 years or younger on June 15, 2021. Due to the cancelled 2020 NCSL season caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, NCSL has adopted a single season (2021 NCSL season only) exception to Bylaw # Section 12.03 which permits all eligible 19-year-old swimmers the opportunity to practice and compete in a final recreational swim season.

2) All swimmers MUST be able to swim at least 25 yards freestyle. Head over to SRPD if you’re looking for swim lessons. At this time, coaches are not allowed in the water and all coaching will be done from the deck.

3) All swimmers must be registered through NCSL in order to practice/compete in the May, June, and July swim season/clinic.

$140 for the first swimmer in each family (5-19 years old)

$100 for each additional sibling (5-19 years old)

This includes pool access at the New Aquatic Center, coaching, and meet entry fees. Team suit, swim caps, goggles, and other optional team merchandise are extra.

Payments (cash, check, charge) will be taken on deck from May 15th to June 14th.

Northern California Swim League (NCSL).

$15 per swimmer - NCSL registration opens January 1, 2021. (non-refundable fee) This is a separate registration fee that goes to NCSL via their website

IMPORTANT: All swimmers must register with the team AND the Northern California Swim League (NCSL) before they can enter the pool to practice as well as compete.

Please note that our 2021 Season will be capped at 150 swimmers.

Given the time restraints that Southgate Recreation & Park District has placed on us for our upcoming swim season, we will only be able to offer swim practices in two separate sessions: 7:00pm-7:50pm and 8:00pm to 8:50pm. In order to accommodate as many swimmers as we can so that all can experience what makes our Tsunami summers so fun, we will run two cohorts:

BLACK COHORT = Mon and Wed and 2 Fri

GOLD COHORT = Tues and Thurs and 1 Fri

Families will only be allowed to sign up for 1 cohort -- we want everyone to have the opportunity to sign up. On Thursday, May 20th at 5:00pm we will allow families to sign up for multiple cohorts if there is room available.

Registration for ADDITIONAL COHORTS will open on Thurs May 20th at 5pm. You will need to register for the second cohort using the MEET tab at the top of the screen.

Coach Tim and his coaching staff would like to reserve the 7:00pm cohorts for beginner and younger swimmers with the advanced and older swimmers being placed into the 8:00pm cohorts.

NCSL has set our meet schedule as follows:

  • June 19th at Rio Vista
  • June 26th at Rio Del Oro
  • July 10th at Dixon
  • July 24th at home against Fair Oaks (tentative pending SRPD restrictions)

There will be no championships this year.
