Miramonte Swim Club (MSC)
The MSC Gators provides youth, ages 4-18, the opportunity to experience and enjoy recreational swimming in a positive, competitive environment. Coaches focus on individual stroke instruction while teaching team and life values such as discipline, focus, self-respect, and team spirit. Developing character is the ultimate aim and all swimmers participate in realizing this shared goal. MSC remains the only public recreational swim team in the 9-member Orinda Moraga Pools Association (OMPA), which provides competitive meets throughout the summer. Beyond the per-swimmer summer team membership fee, there is no "pool-joining" or "club" fee.
The Gators coaching staff will be led by Eddie Lee. The coaches promote self-respect, confidence, and poise in a positive competitive environment. They celebrate both individual and team accomplishments. The coaches have a combination of recreational, US Swimming, college, and high school experience. See our Coaches page for more information on our outstanding coaching staff.
MSC is open to swimmers of all abilities, ages 4-18, competing against kids in their own age groups. Swimmers must attend swim practices regularly and may attend meets. Swim meet competitors must be able to swim 1 lap of the pool (25 yards) without stopping.
Junior Gator Learn-to-Swim Program
For younger kids (4 - 10) who are still learning to swim, we have our "Junior Gator" program. Junior Gators are taught basic swimming and stroke techniques. At the discretion of the coaches, Junior Gators can "move up" to the regular swim team and start to compete in meets when they are ready to do so. Registration for the Junior Gator program costs the same as regular team registration and is done by clicking the "Register Now" button below. During the registration process you will be given the opportunity to select whether your child is registering for the Swim Team or for the Junior Gator program. Please select your preferred timeslot at the time of registration (4:30 - 5:15pm or 5:15-6:00pm). Coach Eddie will do his best to accommodate everyone's preference. You will be notified by email approximately 1 week before swim practice begins as to which slot your child is swimming in. Note that swim practice for the Junior Gators starts on Monday, June 1, 2020.
2020 Swim Team
After school pre-season swim practices begin Monday, April 27, at the Miramonte High School pool. Junior Gator practice begins June 1, 2020. Swim meets and the summer practice schedule begin June 1, 2020 and end with the OMPA Championship July 31st-August 2nd, 2020.
