Open for New Members

Welcome to the Woodland Swim Team!
We are a group of families and athletes who love the sport of swimming, and we are excited to have you part of our team. We are pleased to offer electronic payment processing and registration. The process is simple for both new and returning members. You'll get access to your own private account that will enable you easily declare for swim meets, sign-up for jobs, see your children's swim times histories, maintain your own contact information, and more.
The Woodland Swim Team (WST) is governed by an elected Board of Directors (Board) with nine members. Each year in the fall, a number of these positions come up for election. Members of the Board of Directors are elected for a two-year term. They meet the second Thursday of each month. Members of the Woodland Swim Team are notified at the end of August for vacancies for the upcoming term. Elections are held in October and new board members begin their terms in November.
Special Amendment - COVID-19
For the 2020-2021 season, WST may be subject to a variety of factors related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Restrictions in the amount of allowed practice time and practice schedules by federal, state and local authorities
- The composition of time in the water (e.g. Sessions presently are considered organized lap swim instead of traditional practices)
- Reductions in opportunities for competition
- Additional safety guidelines and procedures related to COVID-19
- Changes in rates and rate structures during the season
- Changes in volunteer hour requirements
Due to these circumstances, WST reserves the right to change rate structures, practice times, practice composition, opportunities for competition and volunteer hours at any point through the 2020-2021 swim season. Every attempt will be made to provide at least 45 days notice for changes, but some circumstances may require faster action.

Competition is available for athletes of all levels. WST attends several meets throughout the year. The meet schedule will be posted on the website. Swimmers are not encouraged to attend meets that are not listed on the meet schedule, unless pre-approved by a coach. Meet entries are processed by each individual family, unless communicated otherwise by the coaches. To enter a swimmer in a meet, visit ome.swimconnection.com. Swimmers are encouraged to discuss their meet entries with their coach prior to registering.
New swimmers will be provided with a Woodland Swim Team cap and T-Shirt after registration. By a swimmer’s second swim meet, they are expected to wear a training or competition suit and team cap. Team gear and equipment can be purchased through swimoutlet.com. Team suits can be any combination of green and black (solid suits and print suits are acceptable).
Rules and Regulations
Rules and regulations governing WST, a non-profit corporation, are in its by-laws. Membership policies are set forth by the Head Coach and Board of Directors and can be found in the WST Membership Handbook. These policies are subject to change. All members of WST are expected to abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the team. USA-Swimming and Sierra Nevada Swimming (SNS) are our governing bodies. Each swimmer must be registered with USA Swimming in order to swim on WST.
