The process is simple for both new and returning members. You'll get access to your own private account that will enable you to easily declare your intent to participate in swim meets, sign-up for volunteer jobs, see your swimmers's event time histories, maintain your own contact information and more.

We look forward to having you join the YMCA of Greater Des Moines and are excited for another great season!

Welcome to the DSMY Online Registration System

(members that did not swim/register with the DSMY Marlins in previous seasons.)

1. All swimmers new to the team need to attend a Tryout/Evaluation session at the practice site where they would like to train and be assigned a practice training group.  Click this link to our Tryout Information  page and complete the Tryout form for your specific practice site to have your swimmer evaluated.

2. Within this registration process, you will select the swimmer's appropriate practice location and group:

  • Full Season dates 09-08-20 through 02-28-21. Post season includes competitions held in March.
  • All swimmers MUST be registered by October 1 to participate in the 2020-21 Fall/Winter season. We offer staggered start dates of: September 8 or October 1. All NEW swimmers participating with the Walnut Creek and Waukee practice sites must start in September.

  • Swimmers competing past the automatic billing period will be invoiced accordingly for their training time. For example, those competing at Y State will be invoiced for one week.

3.  As a new Member, you may choose to become a member of USA Swimming and participate in USA Swimming meets. (This is optional and may be added at a later time.) Click this link to review the options you will see at the checkout.  If you are transferring from another USA Swimming club, please provide your USA Swimming ID during the registration process and DSMY will assist you in with the transfer paperwork.  The optional USA Swimming registration fees are offered at the final checkout.  Select ONLY 1, if anyIf you do not choose an option at the time of registration, please contact our team administrator Frankie Hanson frankie.hanson@dmymca.org to manually add this to your swimmer's account.

  • We do not offer refunds, partial credits or discounts for vacations, missed practices or leaving before the season has ended. However, we do provide monthly payment options.
  • Your payment at the time of registration is your swimmer's first month of team dues (if not paying for the season in full).
