In addition, please be advised that all returning swimmers should remain in their current practice levels for the start of the Summer season unless previously advised otherwise by Coach Babik.  Emails were sent directly to families of swimmers who will change practice levels.

 RETURNING SWIMMERS:

  • There are no "paper" registration forms (with the exception of registering for our Preaqua program).  All team membership registrations must be completed online through our website. Those participating in the Preaqua program are asked to not process any online membership registrations until after your swimmer has been invited to join the team and/or you have been given instruction to complete the online process.
  •  Payment is to be made via credit/debit card for team membership.  If you are not able to make payment via credit/debit card, please contact our Registrar for further assistance.
  • All registrations must be completed and approved in order to be placed on our swim roster.  Dur to insurance regulations, if your swimmer name is not on our roster, they will not be allowed to participate at any practice.

PreAqua is for new swimmers only - typically ages 6 and up.   It is a ONE week (approximateyl 5 weekdays, one hour each day) trial period where the swimmers work one on one with a gold level swimmer while being observed and coached by our coaching staff.  PTAC is a competitive swim team.  The PreAqua session is not comprised of swim lesssons - previous swim lessons, some knowledge of the four basic strokes (freestyle, breastroke, backstroke, butterfly), a strong desire to be part of a competetive team and the ability to follow directions and instructions from the coaches are required.   At the end of the trial period, swimmers will be evaluated by our head coach and advised whether the head coach feels they are ready to be part of PTAC or if more lessons are enouraged.

Our Club participates in the Chestnut Ridge Dual League.  Chestnut Ridge is a league that consists of 9 other local swim clubs,  here we swim each one home and/or away, followed by the Chestnut Ridge Swim Championship at the end of the season.   They are:  Norwin, Hempfield, Monroeville, Latrobe, Derry, Belle Vernon, Elizbeth Forward, Mt. Pleasant, West Newton and Somerset.

AMS(Allegheny Mountain Swimming)  is another league offered by our club that is a part of USS swimming.  AMS is optional but highly encouraged by our coaches for our swimmers to participate in. Especially returning swimmers.  Swim meets are held in various areas around the Pittsburgh area with other AMS registrered swimmers.  AMS requires an additional registration fee for this competitive league.  PTAC does not retain any monies from this additional registration fee.  For more information  visit www.amswim.org
