promoting healthy activities through swimming.
-
We help children, youth,
and adults develop and maintain their physical fitness and mental
alertness.
-
We teach our members to
improve their stroke development and endurance as non-competitive
and competitive swimmers.
-
We are a community based
club that encourages pride in the team, swimmer’s personal
accomplishments, and builds lifelong friendships and leadership
abilities.
Why swim with the
Barracudas?
Our
programs develop swimmers from basic swimming skills to the
competitive level, in a friendly and supportive environment.
Barracuda swimmers compete in all levels of swim meets locally,
provincially, nationally, and internationally. Some of our
swimmers have developed their swimming skills to compete on the
world stage of swimming, representing Team BC and Team
Canada.
Our coaching
staff is dedicated to the swimmer’s continuous
development. Head Coach, Jerzy Partyka leads our team and has
developed a training program that is highly respected in the
swimming community. He often coaches for Swim BC and Team
Canada at national and international level meets.
We
offer:
-
Age Group Pre-competitive and Competitive
programs –
designed to help develop and improve a swimmer’s stroke and
technique by grouping them into swim groups based on
ability.
-
Masters programs - designed for adults who want low impact
exercise to strengthen and condition their bodies without the harsh
jarring effects of other exercise programs; improve on swimming
technique; or to compete in Master’s competitions with the
assistance of professional coaching.
-
Swim School programs – for young children who enjoy
swimming and would like to join the Barracudas but have yet to
develop the endurance needed for our entry level
programs.
-
Summer Swim Camp - focused on having fun while concentrating
on stroke improvement and endurance for swimmers of all
abilities.
