Tryout Information:

Try-outs for Short Course have been canceled this season.

The NF AquaFlyer program is comprised of 2 seasons: the SHORT course season (September through February/March) and LONG course season (April through June/July). For those not aware, "long course" and "short course" refer to length of pools and not length of seasons.

Swimmers interested in trying out are invited to attend an evaluation session (held just prior to each season). During evaluations, coaches will individually evaluate each swimmer based on his/her knowledge of the 4 strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), speed, attitude, age and previous swim experience. Athletes who make the AquaFlyers will be placed on one of 6 practice teams that match his/her ability and maturity. Depending on the practice team, swimmers will practice 3 to 6 times a week.

To be an NF AquaFlyer you do not need to be a resident of New Fairfield.

Important: Due to the size of our pool, we have a maximum number of roster spots on each practice team. While we try to accommodate all swimmers, there are times when we have to limit the number athletes due to capacity. As a result, evaluations do not always guarantee a position on the team.

All evaluations are held at the New Fairfield High School Pool. If interested, please e-mail nfaf.president@gmail.com to schedule an evaluation during tryouts.
