“FREE Swim Trial
Session”
Splash
Aquatics offers a FREE 2 week swim
trial session for those who may be interested in joining our swim
club.
This opportunity is
available to any swimmer ages 6 though 17. Just bring your
swimming clothes, towel, a pair of goggles and meet at the Makiki
pool at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Regular team
practice will also be on going, giving prospective students a
chance to observe a regular swim practice session. Visiting
swimmers must be able to swim at least one stroke (Free, Back,
Buttterfly, Breast) for 25 yards and will be evaluated by our
coaches.
The sessions for the
new swimmers will be shorter than the sessions for our regular
swimmers and will be geared to the ability level of the
swimmer. By swimming with us, the swimmer will get the feel
of belonging to and practicing with a swim club.
What exactly
is Splash Aquatics?
Head Coach Ryan
Muraoka explains it best. “Splash Aquatics
is a USA Swimming Club affiliated with the
national organization as well as the local Hawaii State
Chapter of USA Swimming. While we are a competitive
swim team, please be assured that we have a multitude of swimming
abilities and attendance levels in our current membership at both
our Makiki District Park pool and HMS pool locations.
Swim practice is held
5 days a week. However, it is at your discretion to tailor
your child’s schedule. Your child may swim anywhere
from 1 to 5 practices a week, as his/her schedule may permit.
We are very flexible. We realize that your child
(family) may have other activities. No problem…... you
are welcome to fit swimming into your schedules as you see fit and
at a pace which is most comfortable for your
swimmer.
Splash Aquatics is a
FAMILY club. We firmly believe in the Family
supporting the swimmer. We firmly believe in
Education (beyond swimming). We firmly
believe in developing Excellence. We will work
with any child who has an interest in becoming a better swimmer and
we will strive to nurture and grow their love for the sport at a
level and pace of development that he or she will be comfortable
with.
While learning to swim
is at the core of our program, we also want our swimmers to enjoy
the experience….. have FUN. To this
end we are planning off -island swim events, an awards pot luck
dinner, a Swim-a-Thon, intra-squad fun day (swimmers and parents
compete with each other), an after-practice BBQ, UH basketball and
volleyball games, an annual banquet, all the meets and a ton of
other FUN things for the kids.
Besides Swim Lessons
and Fun, teaching “Life Skills” is
high on our list. Swimmers learn to set and work toward
goals, develop discipline, perseverance, mental toughness and learn
how to be a team member” -- Coach Ryan.
You are welcome to be
a part of this wonderful experience …… something your
children will never forget and will serve them well throughout
their lives.
