Springfield Aquatic Club offers the following programs

Pre-Team - This is SAC's beginning group for our younger swimmers that have no competitive background, but are advanced past swim lessons.  Coaches will concentrate on swimmers mastering all four competitive strokes and getting them ready for future competition on the swimming team.  All swimmers MUST be able to swim at least one lap of freestyle without stopping or hanging on to the wall.  Intra-squad mini meet will be held at the end of the season (Nov-Jan)

Diving - SAC divers train and compete in the Suburban Aquatics League (SAL) dual meet season.  Divers earn points at their meets and are added to the swim meet score to determine the winner in a swimming/diving dual meet.  Practices are held during the evenings during the week and on weekends.  Meets are traditionally on Saturdays or determined by the diving coaches.  (October-January)

Swimming - These are swimmers that have competitive experience through the summer, fall/winter SAL , or USA swimming seasons.  This will group will master and strokes and turns and increase conditioning through practices.  A pace clock is incorporated into their training.  It is the expectation from the coaching staff that these swimmers attend as many practices during the week, but practices are not mandatory.  Attendance at SAL meets is highly encouraged for more racing experience and team unity.  The more instruction and conditioning a swimmer receives, the greater success he/she will see in the water. (October-January or early February)

SAC USA ProgramThe goals of SAC’s USA Swimming program are to provide a means for the continued improvement of swimmers’ abilities and to promote the involvement of swimmers in the USA swimming program and meets.  The USA swimming program is an optional SAC program that is geared for the athlete who really enjoys competitive swimming and wants to make an increased commitment to the sport, with 3 or 4 practices a week strongly encouraged.  Practices specifically for SAC’s USA swimming group follow the end of the SAC’s regular swimming practices which end the beginning of February, These USA practices, with a smaller number of swimmers, allow for increased personal attention from the coaches.  SAC’s USA swimmers will attend competitive, invitational style meets throughout the entire calendar year, letting them improve racing skills and lead to faster times.  These meets are different and in addition to SAC’s regular Suburban Aquatic League meets.

Water Polo - SAC offers Age-Group and High School water polo programs starting in mid-march until May.  Spartan Pride teams compete in the American Water Polo Main Line League.  Practices are offered on the evenings of the weekdays and games are traditionally on Saturday or Sundays at various local pools.  Age group instruction focuses on learning the skills and game strategies of water polo.  High school instruction increases in intensity with training and the finer techniques of elevating one's game.
