2021 Membership Information

Our desire is to welcome back every swimmer from last year’s team. We want everyone to continue to enjoy the fun, the competition and the camaraderie that is the Brookdale Buccaneers.

Also, as a sub-board of the Brookdale Racquet Club (BRC), it is one of our tasks to ensure BRC bond-holders have a place on the team. We’re also wary of overloading certain age and gender groups, so we’re not going to extend our facilities and coaches too far. So here is our registration plan:

February 1 - April 4, 2021 - Registration Open for all Returning 2020 Members

All 2020 swimmers (and their siblings who are new to the team) can go to bucsswimteam.com and register for the team. This is the ONLY window in which returning swimmers and their siblings can sign up for the Bucs.  If you register after this time, there is no guarantee that there will be a spot available.

 

February 7 - April 4, 2021 - Registration Opens for New Members

All new families who want to join the Brookdale Bucs swim team can register during this timeframe.

Each family is required to work six (6) total jobs: 
 
• 5 regular jobs
• 1 general pool
-PLUS-
• Girls and/or Boys Invitational Meets (if you have a swimmer competing)
• City and/or Classic Meets (if you have a swimmer competing)

 

Saturday, April 24, 2021 -  Registration/Activity Fees Payment Due

Once your registration is confirmed, you will be placed on hold until all payments are received.  Once all payment are received, you will be activated and will be able to sign up for jobs and declare for meets.  Please allow a few days for activation once your payment has been received. You will receive an email telling you that your registration payment has been processed.

Registration Fees

$170 per swimmer BRC Member
$240 per swimmer Non-BRC Member residing within the Naperville Park District boundaries
$310 per swimmer Non-BRC Member residing outside the Naperville Park District boundaries
- PLUS -
$30 per family Activity Fee
 
The registration and activity fees include awards, coaches’ salaries and gifts, equipment, insurance, ribbons, team parties, online registration, miscellaneous expenses, and the Naperville Swim Conference and championship meet fees.
 
Payment Deadline
Payment of the registration and activity fee is due in full before midnight on April 24, 2021.  Any families with unpaid registration, activity fees, job fees or NSF charges will NOT be allowed to participate in practices, meets or team events.  If your family is experiencing a unique financial situation, please contact the Bucs Parent Board President or Treasurer to work out a payment schedule to keep your family swimming.
 
Payment of the registration and activity fee is due in full before midnight on April 24, 2021.   Please use one of the following payment methods: 

1. Send your payment electronically to [email protected] using Zelle and include your swimmer(s) name(s) in the message area during the electronic payment process.

2. Drop off your check or cash payment to Bucs Parent Board President Deb Hervey at 1523 Foxhill. You must include the name(s) of your swimmer(s) with your cash or check payment. Make checks payable to: BRC

Any payment returned for non-sufficient funds will have a $35 NSF fee assessed.
 
Refund Policies

• A full refund of the registration fee (minus the activity fee) will be given for a swimmer if a written request to withdraw from the swim team is received before Time Trials in June 2021.  

• A 50% refund of the fee (minus the concession fee) will be given for a swimmer if a written request is received before the first dual meet. 

• No refunds will be given when withdrawing from the swim team after the first scheduled dual meet.

 

Saturday, May 1, 2021 - Job Sign-Up and Meet Declaration Open at 8:00am

Each family is required to work six (6) total jobs: 5 regular jobs and 1 general pool. Online job sign-up closes at 12:00pm (noon) on May 16, 2021.

Meet Declaration closes one week before each meet and will be strictly enforced.  A swimmer will not be eligible to compete in any swim meets until the family has signed up for all of the family job requirements and all required fees have been paid.

 

Online Registration Instructions

Setting up an account:

• New and returning families should click on “Start Registration." The program will then lead you through the steps.

• If you are a returning family, you can log in to the website first to save time.  Please use your email from last year.  You may request a new password if you have forgotten yours.  An email will be sent to that email with instructions on how to log in. 

• Please note that this new system only allows one login per family.  If your email does not work, please try your child's other parent's email.  If we have the wrong email as the primary, please email Carrie Cole at [email protected] to have it changed.

• Please have available any email addresses and/or cell phone numbers at which you would like to receive information about the swim team. They system will allow you to receive reminders via email and/or via text. Returning families, please review this information and update it as needed.

• All swimmers in a family will be listed under one account.

• Once all returning and new swimmers are entered, and you have confirmed the information, click “Pay by Check”

• Read through the NSC Waiver. Click the box to accept the waiver. Finally, click “Complete Registration and Pay By Check”

• Print the invoice and attach it to your check.
