Thank you for your interest in  Clemson Aquatic Team (CAT) !  Founded in 1978,  CAT is a year round, parent owned swim team.  There are training groups for novice competitive swimmers, groups for swimmers with varying degrees of competitive swimming experience, and a US Master's Swimming training group for adults (fitness, triathletes, or competitive adult swimmers).  The team currently practices from September - July at Fike Recreation Center on the Clemson University campus and Central Clemson Recreation Center (CCRC).

Minimum Swimming Requirements:  Your athlete must be able to swim at least 50 yards freestyle, 25 yards of another stroke, and be comfortable in the water.  Fall 2018 evaluations will take place August 27, 28, 29 2018 between 4:30-6:30pm at Fike or after August 29 by contacting Head Coach Jon Mengering at cat@clemsonaquaticteam.org.

Two Week Trial:  If you or your child are wondering if swimming is for you and your family, we offer a 2-week trial with registration.  You must complete the entire registration process.  Choose to pay with a check and bring the check to the pool.  We will hold the check until you make your decision.  If you decide not to continue after 2 weeks, your check will be destroyed or returned without being deposited.

Costs:  CAT offers monthly tuition plans with significant discounts for multiple swimmers per family.  Scholarships are also available for those who qualify for either free or reduced lunch.  In addition to the monthly tuition, a membership fee is required to be paid at registration.  The membership fee is not prorated (except for those swimmers who register after March 31, 2018) as it covers fixed costs associated with USA-S registration and other club administration costs.  There is also a family volunteer requirement to help run the CAT hosted swim meets this season which are the team's major source of fundraising.  Finally, competition suits, practice equipment, and swim meet entry fees are the responsibility of each swimmer.
