Numerous records were broken and Olympiac Trial times were achieved at the Senior Meet this past weekend!!
Jack Blyzinskyj (BGSC) swam a time of 55.89 in the 100 back in prelims breaking Ryan Harty's (GMSC) NE Open record of 56.74 set last year. In finals Jack broke his own record with a new time of 55.30.
Hannah Cox (UVAC) had a unbelievable meet. Hannah swam a time of 56.52 in the 100 free breaking Jenny Thompson's (SSA) 15-18 NE record of 57.11 and Kina Zhou's (UN) NE Open record of 56.93 set earlier in prelims. In the 200 free, Hannah went 1:59.62 breaking her previous NE 15-18 and Open records of 2:02.75 set last year. In the 400 free, Hannah's time of 4:16.31 broke the NE 15-18 and Open records of 4:17.44 set by Brooke Zeiger (UN) last year. In the 200 IM, Hannah broke the NE 15-18 record of 2:18.18 set by Brooke Zeiger (UN) last year and the NE Open record of 2:17.73 set by Jenni Roberts (SSA) in 2011. Finally in the 400 IM, Hannah broke the NE 15-18 record of 4:50.74 set by Brooke Zeiger last year with a time of 4:49.51.
Molly Fitzpatrick (ESC) broke the NE 15-18 and Open records in the 200 breast in prelims. Her time of 2:36.35 broke the 15-18 record of 2:36.84 set by Brooke Zeiger (UN) last year and the Open record of 2:36.80 set by Kristen Connors (ABF) in 2011. Then in finals, Molly broke them both again with a time of 2:35.92!
Kaitlin Harty (GMSC) broke her own NE 15-18 and Open records of the 100 back. Her time of 1:02.59 broke her old record of 1:03.05 set earlier this year. In the 200 back her time of 2:12.94 broke her own NE 15-18 and Open records of 2:14.27 set earlier this year.
Ryan Hogan (SOLO) broke teammate Aaron Zhu's prelim NE and RES records in the 11-12 200 breast with a time in finals of 2:37.90!
Anthony Marcantonio (CRIM) set a new NE record in the 200 IM. His time of 2:05.50 broke the record of 2:05.76 set by Christian Carbone (CRIM) in 2013.
Shane McNamara (HARV) swam a time of 1:03.20 in prelims in the 100 breast, breaking Emmett Dignan's (KING) NE Open record of 1:03.48 set in 2013. In finals, Shane smashed that time with new NE and RES records of 1:01.49! In the 200 breast Shane swam a 2:14.56 breaking teammate Eric Ronda's (HARV) record of 2:17.85 set earlier this year.
Wyatt Ubellacker (BGSC) set a new NE open record in the 50 free swimming a time off 22.79 breaking the old record of Jernej Godec (CRA) in 2011. Wyatt also broke the NE open record in the 100 Free. His time of 51.00 bettered the time of 51.36 set by Ian Croker (PPSC) in 2001.
Sydney Winters (MTSC) broke the 13-14 NE record in the 100 back. Her time of 1:04.09 broke the record of 1:04.82 set by Kyra Sarazen (SSA) in 2012.
River Wright (ABF) set new 13-14 NE and RES records in both the 50 and 100 freestyles.In the 50 free River swam a time of 24.89 breaking his own NE record of 25.00 and the RES record of 24.91 set by Matthew Yish of SOLO earlier this year. In the 100 free, River swam a 53.59 breaking the NE record of 53.64 held by Ian Crocker (PPSC) since 1997 and the RES record of 54.27 also set by Matthew Yish earlier this year!
Brooke Zeiger (CRIM) broke her own NE Open 400 IM record of 4:50.74 with a new time of 4:48.67.
Kina Zhou (UN) swam a 56.93 in prelims in the 100 free breaking Jenny Thompson's (SSA) NE Open record of 57.11 set in 1989.
Aaron Zhu (SOLO) set new NE and RES records in the 11-12 boys 200 breast in prelims. His time of 2:40.27 broke his own records of 2:41.27 set earlier this year.
Finally, two 15-18 relay records were broken. The SSA girls 800 free relay of Kyra Sarazen, Isabel Reis, Emma Whall and Kate Magill swam an 8:32.28 breaking the 1995 record of 8:38.87 set by the BGSC team of Bushnellm Kalbkom Lapinksy and Brown. They touched out the BGSC relay of Wallis, Avila, Swensen and Shashkova by .01!
The ESC Boys 400 Medley Relay of Grant Levasseur, Alex Bedard, Matt Grauslys and Trent Levasseur swam a time of 3:56.77 breaking the previous record of 3:57.25 set by the PHX team of Turk, Pool, Allen and Jung last year.
