I am so pleased and thankful for all of the new donations that arrived around my NYC swim! So, so grateful for all of the support for this important cause! In the last week alone we raised another $3,000+ in donations!
So, how about that swim? I had the pleasure of being supported by my cousin Paul Bever and friend Jeff Rodgers and a provided boat and kayak crew that were spectacular. It goes without saying, the swim was not possible without them. Thank you!
The swim felt great. Other than a choppy last 3 hours down the Hudson river, conditions were wonderful and 3rd overall was better than expected. The 1,000+ miles swum in the last 14 months actually helped :-)
The true challenge of the swim was met travelling home with a decent chest cold acquired somewhere in my travels and then the coup de gras was a really vicious stomach [bacteria] bug where I shed 10 pounds in the course of 72 hours. It was ugly. Ahhh, the hudson river water....
I am now amognst the living as of this writing with a load of antibiotics onboard and will be getting back in the water today to carry on for my next conquest, the Catalina Channel Crossing on July 14th. Working for a complete recovery soon.
Paul took a ton of great photos of the swim for your viewing
pleasure!
