West Polo Introduces Splashball!

Splashball Mission

To promote young athletes to play water polo in a fun, relaxing environment. Indirectly built into the experience, players will learn how to be a water-safe child while having a great time. Players will range in ages of 10 years and younger. The water polo rules are modified to allow the young athlete to develop an interest in our sport. At WEST Polo we believe that in order for our program to reach an elite level, we must increase the awareness of water polo as a sport in our area. By introducing Splashball, we hope to create an alternative choice to the main stream sports for young athletes.

What is it?

Splashball is basically a simplified, more accessible version of water polo for young athletes. It is like T-Ball for water polo. The game is played in a shallow pool so players can jump off the bottom. Players are allowed to use two hands with the ball. The goals are smaller. If needed, players can use floatation devices such as noodles to stay afloat. The game is designed for both boys and girls to play together and is structured as a non-contact sport. Splashball is all about getting young athletes in the water to experience a little water polo, some swimming, and a whole lot of fun. Fun is the main focus of Splashball.
