NE Swimming Partners

The heat index outside the pool didn't equal the fire under the feet of several swimmers inside the pool at the NE LCM Senior Meet, hosted by Seascoast Swimming Association-Seekonk, at Brown University this past weekend.

Eleven individual records, and three relay records were broken, including three records set by  New England Olympians and another set by a World Champion in the 1970's and 1980's!

1. Connor Green (ABF) broke the 15-18 and Open NE records in the 200 back with a time 0f 2:01.52. The previous 15-18 record was 2:04.46 set by Rick Carey (BADG) in 1978 and the Open record was 2:04.01 set by Pat Myers (ABF) last year.
Robert Owen (CRIM) also broke the record with a time of 2:02.45, but was out-touched by Connor for the win.

2. Rhi Jeffrey (BGSC) set a new NE record in the Open 50 free. Her time of 26.14 eclipses Jenny Thompson's (SSA) mark of 26.29 set in 1987.

3. Hannah Cox (UVAC) broke the 15-18 and Open girls NE 200 free records with a 2:03.86. She broke Samantha Arsenault's (GMSC) records of 2:04.20 from 2000.

4.Liam Egan (CRIM) broke the boys 15-18 and Open NE 200 free records with a 1:51.55. He broke the records of 1:52.43 set by Nick D'Innocenzo (MAG) in 2008.

5.  Emmet Dignan (KING)  set a new Open Record in the Open 100 breaststroke. Emmet's time of 1:03.50 eclipses the time of 1:04.60 set by Kevin Donohue (RAMS) in 2007. Then at night Emmett  broke the record again with a new time of 1:03.48!

6. Kyra Sarazen (SSA) broke the 15-18 and Open NE records in the 100 BACK with a 1:03.11. Her time eclipses the 1:03.57 set by Kaitlyn Harty (GMSC) earlier this year.

7. Maggie D'Innocenzo (CRIM) broke the NE 15-18 400IM record. Her time of 4:54.30 beats the mark of 4:57.25 set by Laura Moriarty (MAG) in 2008

8. Liam Egan (CRIM) broke one of the oldest records on the books! His time of 3:56.63 in the 400 free breaks Bobby Hackett's (BGSC) NE 15-18 Record time of 3:58.78 set back in 1978!

9. Max Miranda (ABF) swam a 59.45 in the 13-14 100 fly, breaking James Allen's (GMSC) NE record of 59.67 set in 2011 and Connar Patterson's (EST) RES record of 59.54 set in 2012!

10. Max Miranda (ABF)  broke the 13-14 200 fly NE record of 2:10.96 set by Brian Poon (PHX)  in 2011 and his own RES record of 2:08.29 set last week with a time of 2:08.04. Then at night Max broke the record again
 with a new time of 2:07.11!

11. Max Miranda (ABF) set a new 13-14 NE record in the 400IM with a time of 4:47.09 breaking Kevin Bradley's (MAG) old mark of 4:47.53 set in 2009.

The Bernal's Gators boys 15-18 400 Free Relay of Matt Hrabchak, Cassidy Bastianelli, Harrison Haines and Jack Blyzinskyj swam a time of 3:34.39 breaking the previous NE record of 3:34.76 set in 2009 by the Bluefish relay of Colby. Dunn, Tim O'Neill, Luca Spinazzola and Jeffrey Thomas.

In time trials, two BGSC 13-14 Relays set NE and NE-RES records:

Cathleen Li, Leeza Shashkova, Jess Gearan and Maddie Wallis (BGSC) swam a 4:05.05 in the 400 Free Relay breaking the Bluefish Swim Club relay records set in 2012.

Will Hrabchak, Johnny Prindle, Henry Gaissert and Steven Baczek (BGSC) clocked a 4:15.78 in the 400 Meter Medley Relay to surpass the Charles River Aquatics records set in 2010 and 2011.
