Fall Pre-Season High School Boot Camp

 

The Pre-Season High School Boot Camp is open to all students with an interest in playing water polo for their high school team this Fall season.  No experience is necessary; the camp is open to boys and girls.  The camp will be organized into two divisions; Junior Varsity for first time players and Varsity for returning or experienced players.  The focuses of the two camps are:

 

 

 

JUNIOR VARSITY

 

  • General Conditioning
  • Body Balance
  • Basic Passing Fundamentals
  • Basic Shooting Fundamentals
  • Defensive Positioning & Techniques
  • Offensive Numbering & Basic Techniques

VARSITY

 

  • General Conditioning
  • Body Positions – The Lunge, Back Lunge, Slide, Worm, High-Five Shot Blocking, & Counter Attack Shot Blocking
  • Two Meter Offense Drills and Techniques
  • Two Meter Shots and Techniques
  • Two Meter Defense Drills and Techniques

 

Goalies will be separated and trained independently & jointly with the field players.  JV players will be exposed to basic goalie techniques in the event they play that position.

 

Camp Dates:             August 12-16 (Monday through Friday)

Camp Location:         Redwood High School (Larkspur)

Camp Times:            4:00-7:00pm (4-4:30pm dry-land, 4:30-7pm water time)

Camp Fees:              2013 Marin Water Polo Summer Competitive Program Participants - $70

All others - $125
