2014 UCSD TRITONMAN
Formula Endurance had the opportunity to race twice thanks to the efforts of UCSD’s triathlon team.
Saturday – Draft-legal Triathlon
For the second year in a row we had the privilege of racing Draft-legal in our own back yard! The men’s field this year was unbelievable, multiple professionals and loaded with colligate talent. Our boys had some pressure just to stay in the race, which they did! Unfortunately we had a couple of crashes in the women’s race this year. As a team we have to see these situations as learning opportunities, way to tough it out girls. 3 Formula Endurance athletes made the podium in the High School division…
Boys – 3. Gregory Burow
Girls – 2. Jessica Tomasek 3. Heather Zhang
U-23 athlete, Katarina LaJeunese was racing at the front during the swim and bike portions of the race but had to withdraw from the run due to an injury. Looking strong Kat!
Sunday – Tritonman Classic – Non-drafting
Formula Endurance had another successful day of racing! We had multiple divisions, HS-Elite (racing in the colligate wave) and High School. 3 Formula Endurance finished on the podium…
HS-Elite male – 2. Wyatt Duggan
HS-Elite female - 1. Jessica Tomasek
High School female – 2. Heather Zhang
Veronika Divis missed the podium in the High School female race by just 21 seconds!
U-23 athlete, Katerina continued to put pressure on the leaders during the swim and bike, great effort!
