Last night we tried out some new equipment on the swimmers. The swimmers were excited to try out some new gear. The equipment was from Finis, and we use them for Freestyle, although they can be used with all four strokes. The Agility Paddles are a strapless design where the swimmer slides their thumb into the paddle. It is used to correct for a positive hand postion.
The Bolster Paddle connects to the swimmers wrist and has a strap that goes over the fingers. It enables the swimmer to concentrate on use of their forearm and hand for correct pulling action. Both styles of paddle had the kids screaming to be the next one to use the items. It was fun to see the kids get so excited to use an item that forces them to swim correctly. Good times!
